1. Create your account

Done — you're signed in.

2. Generate your encryption key

Resistro is zero-knowledge. We never see your backups in plaintext — which also means we cannot recover this key for you. Generate it in your browser, store it somewhere safe (password manager, paper envelope in a safe), then continue.

3. Install the agent on your server

Run this on the machine that has the database you want backed up. The agent runs as a systemd service and talks outbound-only to cloud.resistro.org.

4. Register a database

Once the agent is running it registers itself automatically — or add a database below and the agent will pick it up on next heartbeat.

5. See your first successful backup

The agent runs a backup immediately on first start. You'll see it in the "Recent Backups" table below — this step auto-completes once a backup lands with status success.
